The Regional Government Council has approved, through Resolution no. 228/2026, the opening of a public tender procedure for the acquisition of housing units in the municipality of Santa Cruz. With a maximum total amount of €23,000,000.00, this measure aims to strengthen the public supply of affordable housing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
The initiative, managed by IHM - Investimentos Habitacionais da Madeira, EPERAM, intends to mitigate the structural shortage of public housing supply, especially in areas with high urban pressure. The financing for this operation is secured by the program contract between the Autonomous Region of Madeira and IHM, EPERAM, approved by Regional Government Council Resolution no. 1113/2025, with the distribution of costs defined by Ordinance no. 177/2026.
