Regional Government invests over 1.6 million euros in 2026-2028 Christmas lights
The Regional Government of Madeira, through the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment and Culture and the Regional Secretariat for Finance, has formalized the distribution of budget expenses for the design of decorative lighting for the Christmas and New Year festivities for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 periods. The total investment covers six distinct lots, aiming to ensure festive lighting in strategic points of Funchal.
The lots and their respective total authorized amounts are as follows:
- Lot 1 - Funchal Central Zone: €401,247.00 (Ordinance no. 149/2026)
- Lot 2 - Funchal Pier: €451,552.50 (Ordinance no. 150/2026)
- Lot 3 - Rua Fernão de Ornelas and Adjacent Areas: €167,475.00 (Ordinance no. 151/2026)
- Lot 4 - Video Mapping: €176,400.00 (Ordinance no. 152/2026)
- Lot 5 - Funchal Municipal Garden: €70,455.00 (Ordinance no. 153/2026)
- Lot 6 - Praça do Povo and Praça Colombo: €106,606.50 (Ordinance no. 154/2026)
The expenses are spread across the 2026, 2027, and 2028 financial years, allowing for the multi-annual execution of the project. The funds for 2026 are covered by the regional budget, while expenses for subsequent years will be included in the respective budget proposals.
